Thick, tender squid rings, ready to cook from the freezer. Cut from large squid and individually frozen, they're a quick route to crispy calamari, seafood pasta or paella. Sweet and mild in flavour, they take on whatever you pair them with.
Each 700g pack serves 5 to 6 people.
Defrost in the fridge and pat completely dry. For classic calamari, toss in seasoned flour or a light batter and deep-fry at 180°C for 1 to 2 minutes until golden, then serve with lemon and aioli. To pan-fry, cook in a very hot pan with olive oil, garlic and chilli for 1 to 2 minutes. For pasta or paella, stir them in for the final 2 minutes. Like all squid, they turn rubbery if overcooked, so keep it quick.

Why are my calamari chewy?
Usually because they've been cooked too long. Squid needs only a minute or two over a high heat.
Should I defrost them first?
Yes, for frying. Defrosted and well-dried rings take a coating better and turn crisper.
