Yakitori, meaning 'grilled bird', is Japanese street food at its best: bite-sized pieces of chicken on skewers, flame-grilled and glazed in a savoury-sweet sauce of soy and mirin. These skewers are halal, fully cooked and ready to eat, so you can have an izakaya-style feast on the table in minutes.
Each 800g pack holds 20 skewers, serving 4 to 5 people.
Already cooked, so they just need heating through. From frozen, bake at 180°C for 12 to 15 minutes, warm under a medium grill for 8 to 10 minutes turning halfway, or finish on the BBQ for extra char. Heat until piping hot throughout. Brush with a little extra teriyaki or tare sauce and finish with sesame seeds and sliced spring onion.
