Wild Whole Argentinian Pink Prawns, 5 per pack

Big, sweet and made for the grill or BBQ.

These wild Argentinian pink prawns are caught in the cold South Atlantic and sold whole, head and shell on, which is exactly how chefs prefer them for grilling and barbecuing.

The shell protects the delicate flesh from the heat, and the head adds a rich, savoury depth of flavour as they cook. Known for their naturally sweet, buttery taste, they're the same quality we've supplied to top restaurants for over three decades, now delivered to your door.

Each pack contains 5 generous prawns of approximately 60g each, serving 2 people.

Why you'll love them

  • Wild-caught in Argentina
  • Whole, head and shell on, for maximum flavour
  • Approx. 60g per prawn, 5 per pack
  • Serves 2
  • Naturally sweet, buttery flavour with soft, tender flesh

How to prepare and cook

For the best results, devein each prawn before cooking by removing the dark digestive tract along its back, keeping the head and shell intact. Our step-by-step video guide shows you how.

These prawns are at their best grilled or on the BBQ, but are just as good pan-fried. Brush with oil or garlic butter and cook over a high heat for 2 to 3 minutes per side. Argentinian prawns are naturally pink even when raw, so don't wait for the colour to change: they're ready when the flesh turns opaque all the way through. Their soft flesh cooks quickly, so take them off the heat promptly to keep them juicy.

Delivery & storage

All our seafood is frozen to lock in quality from sea to doorstep. Keep frozen until needed and defrost in the fridge before cooking. Free delivery Tuesday to Friday on orders over £75, or collect from us if you're near South Ruislip.

FAQs

What's the difference between whole and peeled Argentinian prawns?
Whole prawns keep their head and shell, giving more flavour and better protection on the grill, so they're ideal for BBQs and showpiece dishes. Our peeled and deveined prawns are the quicker choice for pastas, curries and stir-fries.

Are Argentinian pink prawns the same as Argentinian red prawns?
Yes, they're the same species and are sold under both names.

Can I eat the heads?
Many people suck the juices from the head, which is where much of the flavour sits. You can also save the heads and shells to make a rich stock or bisque.

Allergen information: Contains crustaceans.
